Mo vie ma vie - is een installatie dat bestaat uit 2 onderdelen, Fragments of a movie en moving pictures. Beiden balanceren op de grens tussen film en fotografie. De installatie speelt met de ervaring van het kijken en daagt de toeschouwer uit om verbindingen te leggen, gaten te vullen en de eigen verbeelding de vrije loop te laten.

Fragments of a movie
Een eerste onderdeel is een grote dynamische kijkdoos, ruw geïnspireerd op de kinetoscoop. Een 30-tal fotos zijn gemonteerd op een groot wiel dat door de toeschouwer gemanipuleerd kan worden. Er is geen begin midden of einde, elke toeschouwer start waar hij of zij wil. De foto's op het wiel zij gedoemd tot elkaar, er is iets dat hen verbindt. De toeschouwer wordt uitgenodigd om zijn eigen verhaal te creëren. Geluidskunstenares Els Viane creëerde een specifieke soundscape voor dit werk. |

Moving pictures
Verschillende korte filmfragmenten worden gepresenteerd als foto's. De bewegende foto's spelen met de verwachting van de toeschouwer en nodigen uit om in te zoemen op kleine momenten uit het leven, soms poëtisch, soms banaal. |

Mo vie ma vie - is an installation that consists out of two parts; fragments of a movie and moving pictures.
Both parts operate on the border between film and photography. The installation plays with the experience of looking. It challenges the viewer to make connections and use their own imagination.
Fragements of a movie
This is a large dynamic box inspired by the old kinetoscope. Some thirty pictures are fixed to a wheel that can be manipulated by the viewer. There is no clear beginning, middle or end, each viewer starts where they want. The pictures on the wheel are fated to coexist, there is something uncanny that connects them. The viewer is invited to create their own story.
Sound artist Els Viane made the soundscape for this installation.
